THE NAMING
It’s a hard name to frame
how do I carry a morning star
across a black pond just to tell it
that it’ll never swim again.
I will let it to Pandemonium,
a tower & emerging from it,
lightning & full of fire
& effervescent renovation
a name not for sale in this market
something simply God-given
& the price He pays
becomes His own name
when naming is a trauma too
& the price I pay
is something already alive
& in the water,
slowly dying.
