Pond Glimmer

Stars are coiled eels
about a harvest moon
stuttering darkness
bloom is as bloom does
refrains come and go glow

Milky cubes of light
throng the mast of us mass
for days without accents
and beds in which
no one dreams

of nightingales or round-abouts of hell
