APPLES AND PEARS

I am born with a mind,
and by the afternoon,
I have lost it.

The sun has too many
friends. How will I ever,

etc. etc. I give my regrets
to the photon which won't
see me and the head

which I have lost
among the cabbages.
Two ironies are on sale

in the gift shoppe. One
is made of plastic.
One is made of lace.
